Privacy Policy

Who we are

This policy describes how Coastal Bliss Adventures Ltd. (CBA), handles personal information in connection with trip enquiries, reservations, preparation, participation, websites and communications. Contact: coastalbliss@shaw.ca; 4865 Bench Road, Cowichan Bay, BC V0R 1N1.

Information we collect

Depending on your interaction with CBA, this may include contact information; booking and payment records; itinerary and travel preferences; emergency contacts; medical, dietary, accessibility and fitness information voluntarily supplied or required for safe trip planning; signed waivers and acknowledgements; and communications with our staff. Website systems may also collect technical data such as IP addresses, browser information and cookie data.

Why we use it

We use personal information to answer enquiries; administer reservations and payments; prepare and safely operate trips; accommodate reasonable individual needs; contact participants or emergency contacts when necessary; maintain accurate contractual and operational records; meet legal duties; and send marketing communications where permitted.

Medical information and restricted access

Health and medical details can be especially sensitive. CBA limits access to staff, guides and authorized service providers who reasonably need the information for trip preparation, safety, emergency response or administration. Where reasonably necessary in an emergency, relevant information may be disclosed to medical responders or other appropriate parties.

Booking platforms, communications and service providers

CBA uses third-party services to operate bookings, communications and website functions. These providers may process information on CBA’s behalf and may store information outside British Columbia or Canada. Applicable safeguards, processing locations and retention settings depend on the services in use. CBA does not treat a reservation as blanket consent to receive unrelated marketing messages.

Cookies and analytics

Our website may use functional cookies and analytics technologies. The exact tools in use may change. Where a separate consent or choice is required by applicable law, we will provide it. Browser settings may allow you to manage cookies; disabling some may affect functionality.

Marketing communications

Where permitted by law, CBA may send trip updates and promotional communications. Commercial electronic messages will identify CBA and provide a working unsubscribe mechanism. You can withdraw marketing consent by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.

Protection, retention and disposal

We use reasonable organizational, technical and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Records are retained for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes identified, including legal, insurance, accounting and safety obligations, and then securely disposed of or anonymized when appropriate. No transmission or storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

Access, correction and privacy questions

You may request access to personal information under our control, request correction, withdraw consent where permitted, or raise a privacy concern by writing to coastalbliss@shaw.ca. Some records may need to be retained or access may be limited as permitted by law. CBA will respond under applicable legislation.

Privacy officer

CBA will designate a privacy officer responsible for its privacy practices. Requests sent to coastalbliss@shaw.ca will be directed to the appropriate person.
