The following outline is based on the published trip format. The lead guide makes the final daily route decisions in response to conditions and the group.
Day 1
Nanaimo pickup, travel and first walk
Meet at an agreed pickup location in Nanaimo, check equipment, travel to the coast and establish a base camp. An afternoon exploratory walk may follow.
Day 2
Coastal day hiking
Explore a selected section of the Juan de Fuca Trail from camp or a trail access point. The guide adjusts the route to the group and conditions.
Day 3
Another stretch of the trail
Explore another beach, forest section or tidal landscape. The exact location is agreed with the group.
Day 4
Flexible day hike or camp move
Stay in the current base or reposition to another section for a different walking experience, depending on conditions.
Day 5
Final walk and return
Enjoy a final morning hike, break camp and return to Nanaimo.
