Our guides take care of logistics, equipment preparation and the practical decisions that come with wilderness travel. Exact routes can change for weather, tidal conditions, access and group safety.
Your journey
The following outline is based on the published trip format. The lead guide makes the final daily route decisions in response to conditions and the group.
Meet the group in Nanaimo, travel to Secret Beach at Toquaht Bay, organize equipment, complete kayak fitting and safety preparations.
Depending on the trip length, launch by kayak or use a planned water-taxi transfer. Establish an island camp and begin exploring.
Paddle between islands, lagoons and beaches, with routes selected for conditions, paddling experience and group interests.
Enjoy more island exploration with opportunities for tide pools, relaxed beach time and shared camp meals.
Five- and six-day tours allow more time for exploring other islands and for flexible weather decisions.
Paddle or transfer back to the launch area, pack equipment and return to Nanaimo. The precise return day depends on the booked duration.
